The MicroMagus package is designed for use by
research scientists and engineers involved in the fundamental and applied research on thin film magnetic multilayers and devices based on such multilayers (typical examples are MRAM cells and XMR sensors).
The program package MicroMagus is intended to simulate
- equilibrium magnetization structures and
- quasistatic and dynamic (including thermal fluctuations) remagnetization processes for multilayer magnetic elements
The equilibrium state is found by minimizing the magnetic free energy of the system, which currently includes the four standard contributions (external field, anisotropy, exchange and demagnetizing energies) and - for multilayers - the interlayer exchange energy.
To simulate dynamic remagnetization processes we use the stochastic version of the Landau-Lifshits equation of motion for magnetic moments which takes into account thermal fluctuations of the system magnetization.
